The externalisation of EU migration policy in African states of origin and transit – Consequences and resistance movements demonstrated by the examples of Mali and The Gambia.
There are numerous migration collaborations between the EU and African states, nevertheless, not many people are aware of the consequences of such agreements for African migrants and the cooperating countries. At our conference, we want to address the topic “Externalisation of the EU border regime” and discuss results as well as resistance movements by the examples of Mali and The Gambia. Spokespersons present include: Alassane Dicko (Afrique-Europe Interact Mali), Namarig Abkr (Political Activist), Bruno Watara (Gegen EU Grenzregime Berlin), Sophia Wirsching (Brot für die Welt) and Yankuba Darboe (Gambian-British human rights lawyer).
